Making underground works projects even better
This category celebrates the creativity, ingenuity and tenacity in non-engineering matters finding ways to promote and better deliver underground works projects.
Nominations for this category of ITA Tunnelling and Underground Space Awards are projects being commissioned and contractually closed out between 1st March 2021 and 1st April 2024.
Applications are to be made for non-engineering or construction aspects that have demonstrably improved the aspects of at least one project in areas such as approval of the project, construction efficiency, health outcomes, environmental outcomes, sustainability, stakeholder management and social equity. Design is not included in this category.
Judges will consider project implementations that demonstrate:
General:
- Safety performance with records demonstrating Lost Time Injury Frequency Rates throughout all project phases
- Demonstrated overall Project Owner’s satisfaction with completed work, including quality performance
Organisation:
- Project structuring
- Legislative and regulatory project facilitation
- Risk Management
- Relationship with all stakeholders
Contracting:
- Financing solutions
- Insurance programmes
- Dispute resolution approach
The judges will consider both the non-technical initiative and the likelihood of the initiative having positive impacts on other projects in the future.
