Project of the Year

(between €50 million and €500 million)

Nominations for this category of ITA Tunnelling and Underground Space Awards are projects for which the major civil engineering work* have been completed between 1st January 2015 and 1st April 2017.

Project of the Year - between €50 M and €500 M

Judges will consider project implementation and features that demonstrate:

  • Design and construction innovations developed for and during the project
  • Overall approach to management of construction (methods and schedule) to successfully complete the excavation (s) within plan
  • Safety performance with records demonstrating Lost Time Injury Frequency Rates
  • Development of cost saving solutions
  • Demonstrated overall Owner satisfaction with completed work, including safety and quality performance
  • Public/community relations programs to bring public support to the project and mitigation of construction impacts in urban areas
  • Demonstrate “value added” by all of the above
  • Other interesting features, commercial resolution, etc.

Winning projects will demonstrate successful completion of projects that inspire future underground work.

*Major Civil work includes the underground excavation and support of tunnels, caverns and cut and cover structures as applicable to the project
